Rachael Ped is a ceramic artist living and working in the surrounding countryside of the Essex and Suffolk boarder, who specialises in large ceramic sculptures, which are often playful in nature and very vibrant in colour. Primarily working in stoneware, her distinctive designs and bold markings are very recognisable, selling to collectors spanning the globe.

Inspired by her eclectic obsession of flowers, pirates, Africa, mermaids, dogs and travel, Rachael has a fun approach to ceramics, favouring a stylised approach to her designs. Each piece is lovingly hand made, and tells a story. Having been influenced by different cultures when she lived abroad, Rachael introduces aspects of those cultures in her colour palette and decoration.

She has a real love of the way flowers are drawn by children, that fun, bouncy, simple design that each kid draws naturally. Having survived a childhood trauma, and now well into her 30's, she encourages her inner child to explore, discover and 'play' with clay, in a fun way.

Rachael is a qualified ceramicist, having gained a City and Guilds (Distinction) Level 2 & 3,  and she is also a member of the Anglian Potter's Association.
